Basket with a Bunny

Hello, Stamping and Blogging Friends!
I have a cheery little project to share with you today.  Soon it will be time to fill this darling little basket with Easter goodies and give it to a friend.  A very talented friend did a demo on this basket and I was surprised at how cute it turned out with strips of dp and that new nifty pinwheel die from SU!  I added the bunny tag so I can do a To/From for the recipient.  I think it will brighten her day. Thanks for stopping by!  I will try to enter my basket in:

Oh the Places You Will Go!

Hello, again!  Today's card is an exercise in heat embossing.  My DH made me a nifty heat gun holder and it makes it a cinch to heat emboss.  The challenge at Sketch with a Twist requires the use of a banner so I interpreted that as a banner of pennants for this card.  Then you have to follow the sketch which I turned 90 degrees.  I had fun doing it and it will probably be entered in the following challenges: Creative Card Crew--Masculine, LEJ Designs--Vintage, Lady Bug Crafts Ink TLT-Anything Goes , Through the Craft Room Door--Anything Goes, Vickie's Challenge--Anything Goes, Stamping Sensations --The Great Outdoors,  Challenges4Everyone--Anything Goes, Pink Gem Challenge Blog--On the Move, The Pink Elephant--CAS, Pin and Tack --Anything Goes, Spark Your Creativity!

Friends Are Like Quilts

Hello again, friends!  Do I love quilts?  Or do I love the idea of snuggling under the weight of it on a cool evening?  Is it the patterns or colors?  The mix-and-match of a quilt?  Who knows what it is, but when I saw a Tutorial Challenge at MFP/SpeedyTV for quilt frames, I knew I was going to try one.  I chose a dry embossing technique for the card base, assembled all my little squares, and then created the frame with label dies.  I love this oldie goldie, retired SU sentiment that seems appropriate for a quilt frame card.  We're having a "cool" front again in FL so those crotons have taken another field trip to in front of my sunny kitchen window.  So, friends, do you love quilts? This quilt frame card will also be entered into a challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

Happy Bunny Day!

Hello again, friends!  Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've created to celebrate spring and Easter.  This  cheery little hopping bunny uses one of my favorite color combos--pink and green. How I love this color combo!   A corner punch, a Cheery Lynn flourish die, and a favorite polka-dot bunny image, and some dry embossing through the Cuttlebug were used to complete the card.  I will submit it to a MFP/Speedy Fox and Friends (Bunny or Easter), Alotta Rubber Stamps (Spring), Cheery Lynn (Celebrate),  Cuttlebug Mania (Easter), and Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog, and Sweet Stamps Blog.  See you again soon!

Blessings Daffodil

Hello, friends!  Today I have a cheerful card to share called Blessings Daffodil.  It speaks of Easter and new beginnings, and beautiful things that are yellow and green like daffodils.  The background uses an embossing folder brayered with ink, the scalloped oval dp is sponged alcohol inks on glossy paper, the Copic-colored daffodil image is from Mark's finest Papers, as well as the sentiment, and the fancy tag is from Spellbinders.  You can view this card again at Friends of Speedy TV for an Easter challenge.  And here's hoping it qualifies for the following challenges:    ABC Challenges  Easter, Without Words Challenges  -- Easter,  Victorine Originals -- Easter;  Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges -- Anything Goes ; Make It Monday--Anything Goes, Crafty Boots Challenges --  Flowers, Word Art Wednesday  -- Inspirational.  But, more importantly, I hope you have a very special Easter, and that ALL your days are filled with blessings! kkSpeedy Fox and Friends challenge

Spring Has Sprung Daisy

Hello, friends.   We think in Florida that spring has sprung and then another "cool" front will come through to prove us wrong.   I have some crotons that have traveled miles in and out of the cold.

The card I chose to share with you today brings to mind the lovely colors of spring.  The background paper is an acrylic paint wash technique and the image is heat embossed and colored with H2O's for shimmer.  I know you will recognize the tag die and the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers.  Check out the Simple Salutations challenge at MFP/SpeedyTV this week for cards related to spring.    Maybe spring will be in your area soon!

In the Garden

It's a rainy day here in Florida and I am thinking of gardens.  I was inspired by the cards and photos presented at the Inspiration Challenge at MFP.  The image is a dollar bin stamp that was heat embossed and mounted on several layers including mesh.  I hope you like the tulip label on wire.  I thought it added an interesting touch to the card.  Do you have tulips where you are?  Hope so.  They are so lovely and seem to call for new beginnings.

Little Easter Bunny

My second card today is a seasonal card.  Who can resist a little Easter bunny?  This image and sentiment is from Stampin' Up! and the flower is SU as well.  I am entering this card in the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge that calls for a bunny or Easter card and I think this one does both.  It will also be entered in a challenge at Word Art Wednesday.   Hope you like it!

Double Slider Card

Happy Sunday, Bloggers!   I'm working out of the basket again.  This double slider card fits the challenge at Friends of Speedy TV this week.   You can see the challenge here. The challenge calls for something that moves.  This card goes in both directions and it's easy to know what to pull so it is a real "mover".  I will also enter it at Word Art Wednesday  because it is a cheerful message card.  Don't miss the wonderful cards at this challenge. The butterfly is a special technique using an acetate, glue,  and Pearl Ex on the back.  Remember the days when you said, I'm going to write the technique on the back or at least the materials? Maybe you techies still do, but luckily I found a flower I had done before when I was so good about labeling them and was able to do the butterfly.  Hope your day is great!

Second Post Today: Hello Happy Flowers

Hello again, Bloggers and Followers!  My second post today and my second card from the "basket" is a card I'm calling Hello Happy Flowers.    The Inspiration challenge at Speedy TV this week is From the Garden and these little happy flowers all lined up fit the theme.  The stripes even pick up the pattern in another of Lois's photos and cards.  It seemed like a cheery card to offer to you today.  Hope you like it.

Check out the challenge at http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/page/inspiration-challenge-3-in-the-garden-3-21-13      Be sure to leave a comment so I will know you stopped by.

Bold Border and a Daisy

Hello, Bloggers!  The card today began with a challenge to myself:  Use what is already in the "basket".  The "basket" is really a tote that sits under my counter to hold items I've pulled for other cards or the left overs--dp, images, embells .... you get the idea.  With the available items, I followed the Sketch with a Twist at SpeedyTV request to use a fancy border and that certainly set the theme for the sketch.  Then I added the MFP image colored with Copics and the MFP sentiment.  I wish you could see the shimmer of the alcohol ink dp used.   That dp was created summers ago and I just love the colors.  I guess you can guess why my work basket is overflowing! This card will also be shared at Word Art Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment so I'll know you were here!  Have a wonderful day!

Friendship Mosaic

Good morning, friends and stampers!  I am happy to report that my internet provider rep spent most yesterday with us, but we are finally up and running all the time instead of just hit and miss.

So it's time to post another card for you.  This card is called a mosaic card and was inspired by Lois Bak's cards and photos at Speedy TV's Inspiration Challenge.  My card focused on the Mondrian-like pattern and her sailboat card with the more subtle colors.  I have to say I am more of a rose-pink nail polish girl, but I loved the patterns in the paper and needed a more masculine card.  I seem to be drawn to card designs that remind me of quilts or cards that create an overall design.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by today.

I hope to enter this card in:

Leaves Of Green

Be sure to check out the animation on Google today.  It is too cute and will wish you a Happy St. Pat's Day!   Okay, back to business.  I love green so this card came together very quickly.  You can see the embossing folder background and then a favorite leaf stamp.  I did some fancy gesso/ink dtp techniques on the layers and added the gold bow for pizzazz.  I hope to enter this card in these challenges:

Birds and Flowers and a Sketch to Follow

We've been watching the cardinal couples in our backyard.  I was happy to create a card using birds and flowers as part of a sketch for Speedy TV/Sketch with a Twist.   Even retired oldie-goldie favorite images can create just the right mood because it reminded me of the Amish.  The flowers and circles even reminded me of the wheels on their carts. But that barn in the mini set is calling to me!   If we can just catch one of those beautiful cardinals when our cameras are in place, that would be fun!  If we do, I will post a photo for you to enjoy.

Goin' Postal

Hello, girlfriend!  This card is for a friend who lives far away so postage seemed appropriate.  Heat embossing, Twinkling H2O's, a Spellbinders Tag die,  a Provo Craft embossing folder, and a favorite stamp image--the card came together.  Thanks for stopping by to see my MFP Simple Salutations challenge entry.  Do you have a girlfriend who lives far away?  Send a card to her and brighten her day.  Or send a card to me to brighten mine!  TY for stopping by!

Wishing You Luck, a Rainbow, and a Shamrock

Here is a card for the FOSTV's challenge this week with the theme of St. Pat's Day.  I am wishing you "a wee bit of happiness" with a rainbow and a shamrock!

Simple Things Leaves

Have you checked out the Inspiration Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers?  I was inspired by the colors of one photo and the idea of sunlight through the leaves and went searching for a photo taken in NC.  A criss cross card and a heat embossed leave colored with H2O's completed this card for the challenge at Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge with the theme of travel destinations.

Rainbow St. Pat's Day Card

St. Pat's Day
TY for stopping by.  Here's another St. Pat's Day card following the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow"   idea.  It's for a challenge at Sketch with a Twist at SpeedyTV this week.  Hope you enjoy my card and feel free to become a follower if you would like.

Kimono Card

Kimono Shape Card

Thank you so much for stopping in and especially to those of you who have started following my blog!  You are all very much appreciated!  Today I have a shape card to share.  The stamp inside says Tranquility.  I added the butterflies but kept myself from adding gold embossing because the recipient I have in mind would like it as it is now.  The Speedy Fox and Friends challenge at MFP will be a fun one to enter!

Love in Your Heart Color Challenge

Love in Your Heart
There is an inspiration image for a challenge this week for FOSTV.  I wanted to reflect the simplicity of the room and the colors used.  The wonderful sentiment is from the Mark's Finest Papers All About Love mini set I just received.  It is sure to become a favorite!  This card will also be perfect for Word Art Wednesday.  Be sure to put more love in your heart today!

Asian Joy

Asian Joy Fold
The Speedy Fox and Friends challenge sent me to my oriental stamp images and subtle papers for this Joy Fold card.  I didn't think the card needed any color so the image remained black on cream.  Leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Who's a Pansy?

Brushed Ink Stripes Pansy Collage
Tutorial Time at Speedy TV has us brushing on ink in stripes.  It's a lovely way to add subtle color to a background or image and I enjoyed trying it.  My challenge to myself was to use a new embossing folder and border punch, and a stamp from my Spring Inspiration Station.  So I chose a pansy collage that I hadn't used in quite awhile that requires adding color with alc markers and pencils after heat embossing.  I brushed the inks onto the background layer as well as the stamped layer, used the new punch, and framed the pansy image.  I love the colors purple and green together and I'm thinking of spring even though we're having a cold front in Florida.  This card will also be entered into a challenge at Victorine Original StampsMy Time to Craft Challenge,
the All Sorts,  and the One Stop Craft Challenge blogs. Thanks for stopping by and making a comment!
