Froggie Martini

Hello again!  Here's a cute image of a froggie in a martini glass.  It always makes me smile.  I have a friend who makes a great chocolate martini and I thought she would get a chuckle out of this card.  Plaid seemed appropriate and I thought the sketch from the Sparkle N Sprinkle challenge was just the thing.

It will also be entered in several Anything Goes challenges:
 Crafting When We Can Challenge--Keep it simple;
Amusing Challenge--Water Fun (What could be more fun than a frog in a martini, LOL!); Sister Act Challenge--ATG;
One Stop Craft Challenge--For a Friend

Congratulations!

Hi, Friends!  Here with a medallion congratulations card done in earth tones.  The medallion was hand punched with a Martha Stewart punch and creates a focal point for the simple congrats die cut.  I like to use Kraft card stock and colors that blend with it for an elegant and simple card.  I've decided to enter it at Sparkle N Sprinkle for their sketch challenge.

Congratulations in Black and White

Hello, Blogging Friends!  Don't you just love this layout for the Sparkle N Sprinkle challenge?  I normally don't do sketch challenges but this one just cried out for my attention.  Using a heart circles die from Spellbinders, some Creative Memories gingham paper, and the Provo Craft congratulations embossing folder and congrats die.  It's a sketch that can be used for all events and is clean, simple, and fun!

Butterflies and a Daisy

Greetings on an alternating rainy-sunny day!  I'll bring you some sunshine through a card called Butterflies and a Daisy.  You cut a three panel card and die cut a shape through the first two panels.  Insert your vellum in between for a vellum window.  It's for a Victorine Stamps called In the Garden with Animals and Bugs.

Feelin' Corny

Creating from the basket today, Friends!  I've pulled out some scraps and a new die of an ear of corn to make  a Feelin' Corny card.  Makes you want to whip out the puns and silly jokes.  It will be entered in the Y challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends since corn is yellow and we've been lucky to get some excellent corn this summer already.

Thank you Daisy

I needed a Thank You card and I went to my fave new technique called Puzzle Pieces that I learned about on MFP/SpeedyTV and will be entered in their Tutorial Time challenge for this technique and Word Art Wednesday because a TY card is always inspirational to the person who sends it as well as to the person who receives it.    I love this new stamp that was willed to me via a dear friend and a new friend.  TY Linda and Connie.  It uses dry embossing with a Provo Craft folder, Spellbinders pinked circles.  Thanks for stopping by!

Spotlight on Gentle Thoughts

The spotlight technique certainly leads your eye to that part of the image.  This card is for the Sketch with a Twist at SpeedyTV and Word Art Wednesday because it's a "thinking of you" card and can give great comfort to the receiver.   Thanks for stopping by!

Here's a punch art owl card for a new graduate.   Stamped inside:  Follow your dreams!  with a place for a gift card so they can follow their immediate dreams.   May they all find jobs and happiness!  And may they be wise as an owl!  This will be entered at the Brown Sugar challenge.

Quilt with Some Bling

Hi!  I have a card called Quilt with Some Bling to share with you.  I always think that black makes yellow really pop and I love quilts.  It's a card where all the stamping is on the inside because I didn't want to cover any of the quilt patterns, but it would be a design used for any occasion.  It's for a challenge at Mark's Finest Papers at http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/  Thanks for stopping by!

Shoe La La

Today's first card is called Shoe La La because a girl just can't have too many pairs of shoes.  The images are from The Angel Company and the sentiment is computer generated.   It will be entered at Mark's Finest Papers/SpeedyTV Inspiration challenge.

Daisy and Friend

I have always been a daisy girl and this card makes me smile.  I think it will make the recipient smile as well.   It uses the dry embossing and the puzzle technique for Tutorial Time at Speedy TV.  I love this Musical Flourishes folder and use it often.  If you've been following my blog this week, you will notice that I am enamored with this puzzle technique and have been having fun embossing and smearing ink pads.  It's been a lot of inky fun in my studio this week!

Hello, Friends!  This card reminds me of the lyrics:  I love you, a bushel and a peck!  It's a song my parents sang to me when I was such a little thing.  Thank you, Linda and Connie, for the Verve dies.  I stamped the inside with a sentimental sentiment.  Now try saying that three times quickly.  It will be entered in the Tutorial Time challenge at MFP, Make It Monday, Word Art Wednesday.

Y is for Cool Yule

Hello, Friends!  I know it's summer but yesterday it was 48 degrees here and as I was looking for an idea for the Letter Y for Speedy Fox and Friends, I remembered my gator image.  We're also supposed to be making our holiday cards as we go though the year and not procrastinating, right?  So here's my "Have a cool yule gator".  The image is from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle and it's orange and blue because we lived in Gainesville, FL for 19 years!  Enjoy!

It's Your Day

It's you day and choose a ticket, Dad.  It's for
Sketch with a Twist at Speedy TV.  I have a photo somewhere of my Dad reading the newspaper with his reading glasses pushed down his nose and looking grumpily at the news of the day.  This image reminds me of the photo.

Even if nobody sees....

Hello, Friends!  Just had to share something I saw on Beyond the Fringe.  When your DH asks you why you keep making cards, you will have a reply!

CAS Sailboat

Hello, Friends!  We've had so much rain in the last two days that I thought we would float away or that all my card stock would curl.  It was the type of rain when only a slicker will do the job so no umbrella card today.   My color choices:  hooded-slicker yellow, hopeful-for-blue-skies blue, and a heat embossed sailboat.  It seems perfect for a new baby boy, a young boy's birthday with an exterior sentiment added later, or a guy who has always loved sailing and loves to speed along in a lake or ocean. This card will be entered in the following challenges:  CAS-ual Fridays- banners and flags;  Word Art Wednesday--sentiment inside:  May you sail through life on calm waters;  Alotta Rubber Stamps - Summer feeling;  Simple Salutations--birthday; SFYTT- Sketch;  The Crafting Cafe - Here come the boys;  One Crazy Stamper - Summer fun; The Crafter's Cafe - For a boy.

A Friend is Like an Umbrella...

...because they cheer you up on a rainy day!  My, how an idea can change along the way.  A card that was going to be gray, black, and white turned into bold and bright. It's raining here for the second day and I needed bold and bright.  I'm hoping this card meets the following challenges:

It's Friday and an Envie Pocket Card

Happy Friday, Friends! Today I have an Envie Pocket Card to share with you.  It begins with an A2 envelope that is cut, embossed and crimped, and decorated.
It creates a little pocket for a tag with your note or sentiment.  It will be entered at the MFP/Speedy Fox and Friends, Stampnotique Designers SCD103, The Paper Shelter, There She Goes, and Stamps & Fun = Creativity challenges.  See you again soon!

You Are My Sunshine and My Rainbows

Hello, Friends!  We've had some rain lately and this card is so appropriate because sunshine is predicted for tomorrow.  Today's card uses a DTP technique using oil pastels.  I love the richness of the colors.  It was hard to pull it out of my dp stash, but I knew when I saw this Back to Paper digital image that a vibrant background was just what it needed.  The sentiment is from Verve and I just love the tone it sets.  This card is image #2 in the CDAC Progressive Challenge--required image-- and will also be entered at Crafty Boots--rainbows. I will also enter it into these challenges:  Make it Monday - W - always Anything GoesOoh La La Creations - 2W, SIO - (2nd week) Inspired by Nature;  Stamp and Create - M, 1E/week - (June) Summer Fun;  Tammy's Scrapin Corner - W, 2E, F - Anything Goes + Texture;  Use Your Stuff - W, JFF, use your stash - Summer-inspired;  Without Words - M, P10, 3E, CAS, hand-colored image - (June) Hot Colours;  Fitztown Challenge - W, F -  Anything Goes;  Crafty Bloggers Network - MSIO - (June) Bright & Breezy;  Word Art Wednesday--Anything inspirational Goes; Alota Rubber Stamps--Summer Feeling.

Missing You

You will see that my cards today are variations on a theme.  Today's third card follows the same sketch for the Sketch with a Twist challenge at Speedy TV.  Somewhere behind those leaves is a row of wide rickrack that doesn't show up very well required for the sketch.  I love leaves and adding some glittery chalk to my handmade dp brought out the purples which I liked.  It was fun to experiment with different focal point stamps, but I found I only had one stamp that was about missing someone.  How could that be?

For a Soldier

Today's second card is for a soldier.  After visiting the OWH blog hop, stars and this sentiment seemed appropriate.  It is for a challenge at Sketch with a Twist at Speedy TV, Crafting Musketeers, Ladybug Crafts, Make It Monday, and the Crafting Cafe.

Missing You on Your Birthday

Hello!  Today's first card is called Missing You on Your Birthday.  Inside it says, "Grab the Fire Extinguisher!"  What a hoot!  The image is from MFP and the inside greeting as well.  The Happy Belated Birthday is from Darcie's and the Missing You is an oldie goldie stamp of unknown origin.  This is for a challenge at Sketch With a Twist at SpeedyTV.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Little Blue Eyes

I knew when I saw this digi image by Sandi Huggett that I would base the card on those eyes!  Some dry embossing on my own hand painted background dp.  I chose a studio g stamp that had never seen ink and a MS punch to frame and direct the eye to  the focal image of the card. How cute she is!  Sorry the lighting isn't up to par, but we are having a very gray and wet day here and I just couldn't capture all the embossing.  This will be entered into the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge and Crafting with Dragonflies.

The Rains Came Today

Hello, Friends!  A rainy day is the perfect day to upload this card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge. The image is by NanaVic and the sentiment is by A Piece of Heart.  In person, you can see the differences between the black background and the ribbon.  Ever notice that you can tell that you could have done "one more thing" after you take the photo as you are ready to post/upload?
