A Winter Birthday
Welcome new followers; it's good to have you here. Today I have a winter birthday/Christmas card to share. It uses dry embossing, a die, and a Verve sentiment. It went postal today for a friend's birthday. I think she will like the festive, seasonal colors even though she has to share her birthday celebration with the Christmas holidays. Double joy!

The stockings were hung...
I just love that poem and you would think that I would know it by heart by now. Are you hanging your stocking by your fireplace? In Florida, we have a gas fireplace and our stockings hang on the hall tree instead. We are filling other people's stockings this year and donating gently used items to special agencies. We hope you are doing the same. I'm wearing my ACN (A Creative Need) design team hat today to share a card with a stocking. The theme of this month's challenge is clean and simple so I chose to frame the stocking image. I have two friends with holiday birthdays and this one is stamped inside with "May your day be filled with laughter and fun" which seems to fit both celebrations.

You've Got Style!
Hi again! It's time for another {PIN}spirational Challenge. My card today uses a sentiment from Fresh Brewed Designs--You've got style. Originally, my card for this challenge was going to have a sewing theme with buttons and a dress form, but I've been overtaken with the holiday spirit and a deer die cut jumped out of my stash. Then curly antlers...well, you get the idea. The card just had a mind of its own. I combined it with dp's, die cuts, and a jute bow instead. Mixed Media with a Message
Hello, Bloggers. Today I have a card to share with you that's all about layers and mixing media. This card has it all: muslin, glossy pages, tissue, vellum, paint, Verve/A Cut Above dies, Verve stamps, yarn from my stash, and TH distress inks. I should call it "Everything But the Kitchen Sink." It was inspired by challenges at Verve for the December Diva Dare Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Create Your Own Background/Tissue Challenge. It was SO much fun to slow it down a little and do a card with so many layers and elements. I absolutely love getting messy to create wonderful backgrounds. The only problem is that I find it difficult to use them because they have become dear friends by the time I deem them finished. This background has been in my stash for quite a while!
Because it has so many layers, I have included the photo below to show you the muslin, pages, tissue portion of the project. This is a fun background tech to do when it is sunny outside so all the layers of glue will dry.

Snow Happy Snowman
Hi again! I have another project to share with you for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge this week. Meljen's Designs has provided the image of an adorable marshmallow-shaped snowman. I used a sketch originally given for a card but turned it into a tag. The "Got Snow?" sentiment is from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I am very partial to a pink and green color combination. Hope you like it too! This project will be entered in the Aud Sentiments Challenge and the other challenges below.

Joyful Snowman

Modern Whimsy
Today I am trying something new for me. It's good to step out of your comfort zone to try a new style. This tech is a great way to use up scraps of this and that, including vellum which I never seem to add to my cards. I will be entering a challenge at Nicole Heady's blog. I was lucky enough to receive the sentiment from a friend and that's how the card was conceived.

A Tag/Card: Love and Laughter Snowman
Sometimes a sentiment will just seem perfect for an image and I think this one fits this humorous snowman so well. My friends love humorous cards and it will be difficult to decide who should receive this one.
The sentiment could be from Studio G or the dollar bin. So now to explain this strange name. I've made a tag/card which is a card cut to a tag shape. The front of the tag/card can be cut apart to create a bookmark or an ornament hung by the curly ribbon at the top. I'm not sure if this idea is a "kren exclusive" but I've never seen the idea before, however, there's probably one out there somewhere. The silver made it difficult to get a good photo, but I hope you like it.

Next Stop, Christmas!
My card today has a wonderful image from Dee Dee's Digis. The little train digi set comes with a conductor and several sentiments. The sentiment was appropriate since we are all in the Christmas countdown mode now once we get past Thanksgiving. Stop over to Dee Dee's site and see what other wonderful images she has to offer. We took a trip a few years ago and it was so cold outside all our photos turned out with a bluish tint. When I see those photos, I remember just how cold it was. So when I saw the inspiration photo for Day 6 of the Catch the Bug Challenge, I got the shivers again and remembered our winter photos from that trip. My card turned out to be cold and frosty, and I added bling to the snowflakes, the glittery paper, and glitter on her hat to add to the frosty feeling. I hope you get to smile a little as well at the darling image from Bugaboo Stamps.
