Shimmer and Shine

Our challenge this week at Speedy Fox and Friends is to use more than one border.  I found three shimmery papers that I made quite a while ago and punched the same border.   Can you tell in the photo how much shimmer and shine this card has?  I'm lovin' it!  Get out your punches and/or dies and join us making border cards.

Sending Luck to You

For the Oriental Sketch Challenge at MFP this week, I am wishing you luck.  Wet and dry embossing and a circular image.  It has a rather masculine feel to it and is an easy sketch to follow.  Check it out!

White on White

Every so often, it is fun to make an all white card.  For the Speedy Fox and Friends blog challenge this week, that is our task--use only white.  If you are viewing a card in person, all white heat embossing on vellum that is also dry embossed is a stunning effect.  For photos, however, you need a touch of color and so I heat embossed the sentiment in black.  I used two sets from the MFP Stamp Shop-- Medallion and the sentiment and branch from Pears.  I've been baking pony beads to use for embellishments so five of those are on the card as well.  Bling just didn't seem appropriate and the pearls I had in my stash didn't seem large enough.  Plus, pony beads shine and I liked that effect with the white glossy embossing.

Won't you join us for the Speedy Fox and Friends challenges on Saturdays?  We'd love to see the projects you create!

Winter Window

The beauty of winter may be its simplicity.  The hustle and bustle of the holidays is over and we can hibernate with a cup of tea and a good book.  I love windows so I made you a winter window today using a Poppy Stamps die and a photo of bare trees.  So go grab yourself a cup of tea and look at the wonders out your window.

Keep Calm and Emboss On...

The Oriental Sketch Challenge is starting up again for 2015.  This card was being planned for a Zentangle-type or paper-pieced card, but when I finished embossing, I liked it in its simpler form.  We have a sketch for you to follow and hope you can join us!

Patchwork in Pinks Palette

Welcome to a new year of challenges at the MFP Stamp Shop.  We have a new store site and new challenges to tickle your fancy.  Today's card for the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge calls for a patchwork background.  Anything "quilty" is a fave of mine.  After so much red, green, silver, gold, and such for the holidays, I chose a different color palette.  Hope you will join us at the challenge and check us out on Facebook too!

Ice Fishing, anyone?

Here in Florida, we don't get to go ice fishing.  We get to go out on the rivers or in the Gulf or Atlantic Ocean if we are so inclined.  But this image from Deedee's Digis is so cute, who could resist making a card with the image and those wonderful papers.

I used a cherished snowflake die from ProvoCraft and a new sentiment die from WPlus9.  I believe that this hello die will soon become a "go to" for many cards.

Be sure to check out Deedee's big  sale with all image sets at 75% off for the month of January (smile!) and get more information on the VAT tax that is affecting so many digi companies HERE. You are sure to find some you will want to have in your stash.

Happy New Year!
