It's the last day of the blog hop and

Dragonfly Blue

THIS IS POST #2.
SCROLL DOWN FOR THE BLOG HOP INFORMATION.

Hello, Friends.  If it's Wednesday, I just might have a new card for you.    I have a Just for Fun Stamps image to share today.  It a dragonfly that is heat embossed and nested onto a Spellbinders scalloped oval and then onto a Spellbinders painted card cover die.  Ever watch a dragonfly?  It will sit for a long time until you get your camera and then it flits from one branch to another non-stop. So I stamp dragonflies and enjoy them that way.

Blue with Black and White

We're focusing on three colors this week on the
MFPSS Blog Challenge:  blue, black, and white
I love trees--with or without leaves--
so I chose a wintery image --Chill in the Air--for you today
and kept with a CAS theme.
Hope you can see the snow in the image.
As I am uploading this, it is hot and humid in Florida
and I find myself wishing for some winter weather.
Use our colors and join us!

*Note:  As I am seeing this post, we are having cooler
temperatures in Florida.  Yippee!

Birdie in the Window

It's Wonderful Wednesday again and time to share JFF Stamps images.  January is all about the birds and backgrounds for me.  I chose Small Warbler again with a fancy fold card.
I needed a masculine card and thought the granite embossing powder and the designer paper might not seem as feminine.  Hope the recipient agrees. For a more feminine card, I would have added flowers around the frame.

This is a gatefold window card with some fancy die cutting to get the
window and designer paper liner effect.
If you are interested, join my blog,
leave me a note to do a tutorial on how to create this card.

Uh Oh!

Hello, Friends! When you need a get well card
for a friend and it's a guy, I think of the images at QKR.
My friend is a UF Gator fan so orange and blue were the colors of the day.
Just layered up and thought Uh Oh!  said it all!

Gatefold with a Twist

MFPSS Blog is having a challenge with an
easy fancy fold card--a gatefold.
I used images from On the Fly and a sentiment from Glad Glads
with ribbon, a tag, and designer paper
to create my gatefold card.

My gatefold card has an interesting twist.
The frame stays with the left side of the card and the
main image is attached to the right side.

Acrylic Block Stamping

Using your acrylic blocks for applying ink
for a background will create a unique look for our cards.
I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks for use with the Pears set from MFPSS.
Stamp with acrylic blocks and join us for this week's challenge
on the MFPSS Blog.
Beware!  This "new-to-me" technique is addicting!

Craft Room Re-Do

Hello, Friends.  On the January 5th post, you saw my catastrophe. Such a job to get the room sorted and reassembled.  It was completed yesterday but I was too tired to share.   I couldn't lift my camera, LOL.  My craft room is again functional!

My hubby is so handy and is a perfectionist so the rehanging/reinforcing/re-spackling, re-painting took a while. Then replacing all the items took longer than I thought it would.  Just deciding how to re-organize took some thought.  It was such a good opportunity to rethink the space. Here are the bits and pieces of the room that took "the fall."

Two hanging cabinets hold embellishments and larger tools.
A cabinet below has all my stamps and watercolor basket.
This whole counter area faces a closet with dies, ribbons, more stamps, and a sink area.

The cabinet is up again and re-inforced.

The printer's tray had to be rehung and everything put into the slots again.

I had to re-organize the whole counter top since everything had to be removed
while Don was doing his carpentry magic.
Die cutting, embossing, distress inks, ATG, trimmers and score tools.

All my strangle little collected storage units (less than 11" wide) had to be re-hung.
Here are some ink pads, Twinkling H2O's, and acrylic blocks.

Most punches in a drawer but some here.

Staz-On and all black ink pads at the ready.
Love this card stock pad I bought at StampFest last year.

Promarkers, Copics, and Sakura gelly pens ready for coloring.

Magnetic tool hanger under the DT calendar.
Ready to start those JFF and play with new stamps!  And get going on those MFPSS Blog Hop cards!

Now I need paper storage ideas.
I have a space that is 24 x 30 x 34 jammed with dp and  card stock.
IKEA, here I come!

You Are Tweet!

It's Wonderful Wednesday.  I love to share images from Just For Fun Stampsand this month, it's all about the birds and backgrounds for my cards.  In Florida, we don't have snow and we still have greenery so our birds keep arriving all winter from the North to share our milder temperatures.  If only we could keep the squirrels and raccoons out of the feeders!  So here's the Small Warbler image with a direct to paper technique and dry embossing to make those winter blues FLY away!

Look for the Good

Hello, Friends!  This has been a good day/ bad day
and so much has happened and it is only 9:00 a.m.
Good:  I stretched, colored, had coffee, and I made this card for a challenge and managed to follow the sketch AND colors needed.
And used this cute image from MFPSS
I guess I am thinking of holidays ahead.

There were a few minor incidents while flinging gesso off the brush,
but things were still going well.
And then, while I was standing and finishing the card,
this shelving unit/storage cabinet made a terrible creaking sound and
started to fall toward me.

All the contents were crashing down
as I struggled to hold it steady.

It was pulling away from its backing and
the unit was so heavy, all I could do was brace it
and while I pondered my options.
I managed to get it onto my shoulder
as I heard things crashing around me.
Many of the items fell onto the counter top.

Many fell to the floor and some even rolled into the
next two rooms.  Containers were cracked
and things were scattered everywhere.

Now that I have swept away about a million micro beads,
I have begun the sorting process.

What's good about all this?
My card was finished and I have the opportunity
to sort and sift my craft supplies
and reinforce this cabinet.

Won't my husband be surprised/horrified
when he gets home from disc golf!

I will share this card at

A New Morning Ritual

Who doesn't like to color?
I purchased an adult coloring book to take on a recent trip.
I didn't think I could pack card stock, die cuts, and
all the other fun stuff we use for card making.
The coloring book was great for the longer bus trips, was easy to pack,
and I could fit 2 pencil cases with water brushes, watercolor pencils,
and even the sharpener as you can see in the photo.

So here's my new morning ritual.

Here are some finished pages ready to cut in half and use for cards.

This is the book I purchased and I like it because of its size.
Unfortunately, the pages are printed front and back
so you have to make a difficult choice if you want to use them for backgrounds.

One of my DT positions ended so I will find myself with extra time.
Where will you find me?  Yep, you guessed it!
